These Good Amps For My Subs?

Recommended Posts

Ok ive been running this system for quite a while now and i was wondering if i am getting some good potential out of my subs with these amps. the subs sound a little sloppy so im not sure if its the amps, subs, amp settings or even head unit.

I have 2 Alpine Type R 12" subs wired to 4ohm

Im running each sub off a Kenwood KAC-8103D Amp

anyone have any comments, suggestions, ideas?

is there a way i can wire these subs up to 2ohm, since the amps i dont think are stable at 1ohm.

best advise get a new amp like a kenwood x10d excelon series you can find them for like 150 at www.millionbuy.com. any ways you more then likely have them in a series parallel. any subs in series you may blow a voice coil if not done right. instead of adding them take the wattage of one coil of the two in series. that all the wattage you have to add to the circuit. so all you need is 250w to two voice coils in series if it a 500 watt rms dvc sub. it's better if you parallel it but you amp will not handle it. they will be able to see 500 watts in parallel but not in series.
