crunkjuice1
Don't know if anyone has asked Tony but will theree ever be a meter about size of VM1 that can display what an alternator is putting out? I think it would be cool to have.
gckless
It's called an ammeter. I've asked D'Amore before here with no response. Check out here: http://mobileaudioforum.com/forum/showthread.php?6532-I-Haz-Analog&highlight=analog Also check out the last couple pages of my build log. crunkjuice1
Cool Cool from what I see that may be more affordable than what I'm imagining hell what I'm thinking about probably already exists but things like what I'm asking about and what you are using beats a clamp and to me and you at least its cool to see what the alternator is doing when your revving up RPM's

To use this ammeter on anything over 10A, you have to use a shunt. You wire the shunt in your ground wherever you want to measure, and you wire the ammeter to the shunt. The shunt provides a specific voltage drop across it's sides, and the ammeter calculates to find amperage. Quote "Clipping" is the biggest forum boner now.
