Right now I have a hifonics gladiator 1400.1d and gonna be getting my hands on a kaption DZ-2000.1, I'm asumung the dZ2k is gonna be plenty better. But I could not find much of anything about it online. And I haven't used many kaption amps. So I'm just looking for some info on the dz.

Never even heard of the brand personally.

Upon doing a little looking, I see it's a Canadian outfit, so maybe that's why I've not heard of it, being located in the States myself. Their website doesn't even have anything about ANY of their amplifiers. Well, it does have a very small mention of an upcoming model, MX-2000.1, but there's no useful information on the site whatsoever.

Makes me a bit concerned, but...

That's what I was thinking. I o ly found it on one site and had minimum info about it. Pretty sad. Because I know kaption has a fair amount of amps. And I went to kaption audio.ca and the only have 3,of the latest amps on their site. Like what's that about lol. Can't rt any info on any other amps they made

I've actually been looking around since replying, found a couple other car audio forums where there were pissing matches over the quality of the brand, but again, I can't say anything of the brand myself.

You say you found a little about a few of their amplifiers on their website? I must have looked at the wrong site or something.

Ah, I believe I found the site you did.

Looked into the MX 1000.1 a little and from the looks of it, I would say "it's" likely to do rated power at the 14.4V it's measured at. However, good luck getting and keeping your car's electrical at that. Still, the DZ-2000.1 "should" produce more power than the Hifonics you currently have. No idea how much power it's likely to produce in your car before distortion occurs though.

That's what's I'm aiming for lol better then the hifonics lol. I understand the concept that I need to have the electrical to back up the amp. Just working on the alt. Already have 2 batts in trunk. I also have an oscope so I can check out the voltage clipping. I have ran a few subs from kaption. And personally I would rather run their SPL series subs over type R's and I have had some bad luck with alpine mrp-m series amps. Gotta be nice to them or they gonna pop. And they run hot. So I'm hoping that I'm gonna have same experience with their amps as I did their subs . I'm actually surprised not a lot of people have commented on this post. Kaption is popular in Canada.

Must not be a lot of Canucks on here.

Can't say which I'd prefer to run since I've not been around the brand, but I've know a handful of guys that've had good luck with the Type-R. Seems to be a pretty decent sub overall, at least out of the mainstream brands.

I've heard people claiming the MRP's run a bit warm. I had an MRP-M200, but don't recall having such issues, then again, I was running it at 4 ohms. Had it for about a year and sold it.

I later bought an MRD-M501 and for some reason, have yet to use it to this day. LOL

Also have an MRD-M605 that seems to be a decent amplifier (to me), though in all the time I've owned it, it's gotten maybe 5-6 months of use, just recently wired it up for the second time to power an Infinity Reference 1260w.
