dogging hi fonics again smh

no one is dogging hifonics.. he asked a question and we answered with the truth.. hifonics amps are not bad. the only thing is if you want a 1500 watt amp then get the 2200 if you want a 2000 watt amp get the 2400. they dont do rated like some people think.. i would buy a hifonics if i needed a 1k amp i would get the 1700

You may well have difficulty effectively limiting the output of that amplifier to anything less than 700RMS. By effectively, i mean while still retaining some about of sub volume range. Sure, you could set the gain on minimum and leave the sub volume on the lowest setting and maybe never surpass a 100RMS, but then the next notch up in volume at you normal master volume level may cause the output of the amplifier to jump up by 100RMS for all we, well, I know. It'll depend on the HU you're running and it's preamp voltage as well as it's sub volume control range.

Another amplifier that may prove interesting to you, the Sundown SAE-1000d.

I would do the SAE1000D too but it is rated 1200 rms @ 2 ohms Same applies to what I said in my last post. Now I know this is not the sub section but I'm thinking of the SA-12 or 15 as my next sub so would it take 1200?

Wait, the SAE-1000d does 1200@2 ohms?! I never even looked at the power specs, I just ASSuMEd it would have been "rated" around 1000RMS@1 ohm and probably do a bit more. But 1200RMS@2 ohms, what the hell does it do at 1 ohm?! 1500RMS?

Time to go look, LOL.

SAE-1000D:

1200 watts @ 2.51 ohms after rise (1.0)

1540 watts @ 1.68 ohms after rise (0.5)

Yes. LOL.

This is what is says.

1 ohm nominal - 60 Hz (two NS v.1 in ported box)

740 watts

40 v

18.5 A

2.16 ohms

0.5 nominal - 50 Hz (free air on Monster prototype v.1)

860 watts

36.5 v

23.56 A

1.54 ohms

Current Draw : 80 Amps on the dot

Voltage Drop : 14.6v to 14.0 v

Efficiency @ 14v : 76.7%

Wow, just wow. I didn't figure we (the car audio enthusiasts) would see a day when amplifiers produced a good deal more than rated power like the old RF's and Kickers did years ago.

Bummer, doesn't look like the 600d has a similar increased output ratio.

And it looks like it no just a 1 ohm stable amplier, but a .5 ohm stable amp.

1 ohm nominal - 60 Hz (two NS v.1 in ported box)
740 watts
40 v
18.5 A
2.16 ohms

0.5 nominal - 50 Hz (free air on Monster prototype v.1)
860 watts
36.5 v
23.56 A
1.54 ohms
Current Draw : 80 Amps on the dot
Voltage Drop : 14.6v to 14.0 v
Efficiency @ 14v : 76.7%

I made within a few % of 860 watts anywhere from 50-60 Hz on the test woofer.

However, looking at all this, I just realized (though it was plain as day) that the ratings posted for the 1000d were 1 ohm and .5 ohm after rise.

most amps do over rated. you just have to pay for them. when the price is too good to be true then most likely it is... $300 for a 2.5 k am no way you will find it that cheap unless its used
