Help with Kenwood 9106D

I ordered a Kenwood 9105D (Mono 500RMS @ 4 ohms, 900 RMS @ 2 Ohms) . It matches my Kenwood 7205 (A very cool looking amp). However, the company I ordered it from ran out of 9105's and sent me the newer 9106. The difference is that the 9105 is 1 ohm stable (the 9106 is not) but the 9106 has more power at 2 ohms (1000RMS). I only plan on running two subwoofers so 2 ohm stable should be no problem. I am bummed that the amps don't match and 1 Ohms stable would be really cool. Does anyone else have any experience with either of these amps? I can keep the 9106 or return in and get my $160 back. Anything wrong with keeping the 9106?

I had 9105d. I refer to it as a Kenwood easy bake oven. Junk as they day is long. The Kenwood 4channel I had did great though.

The 9105d would overheat and cut out. Many people have the same issue. I can't speak for the 9106

Thanks for the advice! I ran the 9106d hard when I got it out of the box and it didn't get warm which is fairly impressive (Its almost a 100' here) my 7205 (the 9105's stereo A/B brother would get warm but I never had it protect.
