mason05 Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 When calculating a ported subwoofer enclosure volume, is the port volume separate from enclosure volume or are they together. I know you have to subtract the displacement of the woofer basket and motor but is the port volume separate or included?
TDZ13 Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 Together.. There will be port displacement and driver displacement when calculating it all together. 2006 Hyundai Sonata Lx - Alpine CDA-9885 - Rainbow CSX Comps - (2) 12" Sundown Zv4 - Sundown 5K - 4.6ft3 @ 33hz w/ 6" aeros sealed off in trunk - 250a Singer alt, Kinetik 1400, (2) 2400s - 150.4 @ Dash as of now
CleanSierra Posted July 17, 2014 Report Posted July 17, 2014 The volume that the port DISPLACES is taken out of the displacement. The port "owns" that airspace so to speak, and therefore you subtract it from the enclosure volume, along with any bracing and subwoofer displacements to reach your NET volume. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
