You know, the power factor? When you say power factor, what do you mean exactly?? Cj Kumz Posted August 7, 2014 Author Report Posted August 7, 2014 Sounds right. Sundown SAZ-2000d of mine did 840 rising to 3.1 ohms on 10.4 volts. Was well in the clean power range too. It wont have to work quite as hard to draw the current needed to make the power imo. that said, It will not help box rise. Box rise is comprised of many things. Your sub(s) and box are a big part of that. That all said, I would be a bit surprised (based on my limited experience) if you saw any real gains from doing it. the biggest thing i think you MIGHT gain is the amp MIGHT run a touch cooler. The main reason I believe that is a couple of builds i have done in the past. It always seemed like my amp ran a little cooler when i added an additional battery right near the amp. My ears on the other hand never really noticed much of a difference. Sadly, I never did clamp before and after to give you any real scientific data. If any of what I just said is in any way at all incorrect, then please, educate me and anyone else reading this post.

Thanks for the great info, will definitely increase my electrical when I get the chance. How did your batteries fare when you added a new battery to the old 1 in terms of resting voltages. I hear mixing older batteries can cause fluctuations, any thoughts?? Ritch40 Posted August 14, 2014 Report Posted August 14, 2014 i installed a new battery up front at the same time. that said, i have had some friends simply add a 2nd battery in back leaving the old up front. I dont recall them having any issues.
