Hey people I went on to clamp test my mates aq2200. Its powering a single hdc315 in a 4 cube box tuned to 37hz @ 1ohm on stock electrical..

Clamp meter read 11.5A

DMM read 50.3V

Box rise 4.4ohms

Watts rms 578

Question: Is the low wattage due to the stock electrical or is it the box rise?? The box rise seems to much to be normal lol.

Considering that amps specs are:
4 ohm power @ 12V @ 1% THD500x 1
Id say its due to the impedance rise, and even still rising to over 4 ohms, and still doing around rated power, that is if you at least had some way of measuring distortion or clipping to ensure that the output was clean.

Sounds right. Sundown SAZ-2000d of mine did 840 rising to 3.1 ohms on 10.4 volts. Was well in the clean power range too.

What frequency did you clamp?

unsure who you are asking Tfade, but I'll throw myself in.

41hz. Window open meter in the passenger kick on the USACi clamp.

How did you manage to calculate the wattage without knowing the phase angle between the AC current and AC voltage?

You know, the power factor?

I was asking the OP. If he's testing for amp output... it's usually best to clamp around tuning where rise is lowest. Or if he's clamping at his SPL peak it's nice to know how much (or little) power you need to achieve your score.

I was also asking about his speaker leads because he could have double the power and half the rise if he only clamped on speaker lead (if he has two).

Fixed it for you. Feel better?

I clamped at 50Hz and clamped the single speaker positive going to the amp (sub parallel wired)
