  • 3 weeks later...

So the rebuild starts here. I went as far as removing the entire interior this time!

IMG_3827_zps11d6019c.jpg

Then sound deadening followed, got the whole floor done with GT MAT Ultra 80mil.

Now for the speakers; I added some baffles to help better protect them from the elements and so far I like them. As for sound quality I noticed a tighter mid-bass response but nothing drastic, I have these on a high pass filter at 180hz so I'm not trying to get any bass out of them.

IMG_3859_zpsffebe361.jpg

I mounted the speakers into my MDF piece with T-Nuts and cap head bolts just like I did for the subwoofers.

The baffles are sealed nicely and wired clean.

As for the interior there was a lot to do as far as wiring goes, you'll see later...

With the sound deadening done; it was time to get the Sky High primary wire out and use it! 200 ft of it!

Only some of the wire ran....

Time to get the amps mounted up! The idea is to fit both behind the seat and look good at the same time. Here is the mock up of my idea.

IMG_3913_zps71025856.jpg

Once that was decided then it was time to actually get some things put together.

IMG_3914_zps5c4c4bd7.jpg

And the wire to hook everything up was no other than Sky High OFC 0 gauge! Soldered of course!

Now for the 5 channel amp... this is how I decided to mount is in a free floating design.

And here is it all bolted in place.

And after some wires were connected!
