Couple of questions about Orion HCCA subs

Last weekend sat in a S10 with a single HCCA 12" and will say it hit very hard. I had never heard them so was very surprised about how loud it got. The guy didnt give me away too much but I could see it was in a larger ported box. I assume these are a ported only type sub? The guy was into SPL so his truck was geared towards getting loud, so wondering can these sound good or are they more a get loud type sub. Wondering becasue he had another HCCA that he would sell cheaply. How much power do these generally take? I have a JL 1000 I could use and dont want to swap amps if these subs need more power than that?

hcca's are 2000w woofers.

do like 2 cubes after displacements and you should be fine, for 1000w.

No woofer is as "ported only", to clarify. There is an efficiency bandwidth product, according to the T/S parameters on each driver, that gives a basic guideline on what style of enclosure it will perform better, but you can work around it. You can make any driver, perform in any enclosure, it's just a matter of how it will perform. It may not be as efficient though.
