Nocturnus
So sealed box I can make, ported, not so much (mainly tuning, which is what i suck at). Area to work with is 33" wide, bottom depth of (no bigger) 28", top depth will be 3" shorter then bottom and a height of no more then 17" I'll be running 2 DC L3 15's and around 2200w if that matters. I need help with port length and I think DC says 3ft3 per sub for pored. Should I go bigger/smaller and what about ports. http://www.posamp.rocks/stereo
Cj Kumz
With those dimensions I'm getting 7 cubes gross volume which is very little for those subs. After port and sub displacement you will be under 3 cubes per sub. What car is it, trunk or hatch?? Nocturnus
Hatch. Having to work with size constraints. I need room for my amps and a tiny bit of storage space. What do you think I need for ft3 wise for those two subs? I might be able to squeeze in space here and there. http://www.posamp.rocks/stereo
Cashdollar2009
Playing with Torres and those dimensions you're looking at around 5.5ft^3...ish after any decent port displacement. With the 15"s you're gonna want to shoot for closer to 6-6.5ft^3 depending on power I would say. 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier Two 12" DC Audio XL M2'sCrescendo Audio BC5500d Current Scores: 150+ out the Trunk On 6/30/2011 at 1:11 AM, 'Ray' said: Acoustical energy is free. Cashdollar2009
I assume those dimensions are tight on either side? If not and you wanted to do a pair of 6" aero ports firing to the side you could get closer to 6 cubes. 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier Two 12" DC Audio XL M2'sCrescendo Audio BC5500d Current Scores: 150+ out the Trunk On 6/30/2011 at 1:11 AM, 'Ray' said: Acoustical energy is free. Cj Kumz
^^ x2. That space is a little on the low side but you could get away with minimum 5.5 cubes especially if you over powering. Another issue is your port area per 15 should be in the 48 sq inches and above range to allow proper air flow too. That space would be perfect for two 12s or one 15. Cashdollar2009
Assuming the 2,200W is an AQ2200 or something similar, probably looking at rated power for the subs. You're best bet honestly with those space constraints would be to drop to 12"s and give them exactly what they want if you haven't purchased the 15"s yet. 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier Two 12" DC Audio XL M2'sCrescendo Audio BC5500d Current Scores: 150+ out the Trunk On 6/30/2011 at 1:11 AM, 'Ray' said: Acoustical energy is free. Nocturnus
the 33" side max. the box is fitting tight between the shock towers. I am pretty set on a pair of 15's. http://www.posamp.rocks/stereo
