subwoofer repair

Hello I have an (american bass 15" vfl series duel voice coil 6 ohms) subwoofer i don't know the model number because the sub is 13 years old and the sticker is missing, but anyway the subwoofer works but i want to do some repairs on it. The spider has a few holes and rips in it, one of the tinsels is broken, i know how to repair the tinsel but is there anyway of repairing the spider without having to recone because i cannot find the recone i need because i don't know which one i need. i have tried to call american bass but there is nothing they can do without a model number, and i even sent him a few pictures of the subitself all he said is its like 15 years old.
