dawgs007
I have 2 subs and 2 amps that I can possibly use. I would really like you guys opinions on which combination I should use for loud, clean bass that will hit low freq. (>40). For subwoofers, I have: (1) Power Acoustik Mofo-124X 12" 4-Ohm DVC subwoofer wired to 1ohm final in box tuned to 36hz (SIZE UNKNOWN at the moment) (2) Rockford Fosgate P3 12" 2-Ohm DVC subwoofer wired to 2ohm final in 4.33 cu. ft. box (TUNING UNKNOWN at the moment) For amplifiers, I have: (1) Soundstream Picasso 1.1200D Mono 900RMS@2ohm 1200RMS@1ohm (2) Rockford Fosgate Prime P1-1200D Mono 800RMS@2ohm 1200RMS@1ohm Currently, I have the two Rockford's in each category paired and I got to thinking... I have two 2ohm DVC subs, so once wired up, they are only getting the amps 2ohm load, which is only 800RMS (so, in my thinking it would only be 400RMS per sub). Would it be better to wire the Power Acoustik sub up since it's wired down to 1ohm and it would receive the full 1200RMS? Any input is appreciated. poorfish88
I'd run the P3s and the Rf amp. My bet is the RF amp still has more output than the SS amp. Soundstream uuuur um, Rebadged Power Acoustik uses some pretty bullshit ratings imo. But it's your stuff you decide what you like and sounds best. Amps it's real hard to tell the diff between a couple of hundred watts.
truthsayer
Your mofo sub can not be wired to 1ohm. either 2 or 8 is your only option on that sub. truthsayer
