fiftycharger5 Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 i have a t1000-1bdcp in a 2013 dodge charger. the battery is in the trunk and my installer said that its best to ground the amp to the battery and so thats what he did. all of my wiring is RF 4 gauge ofc. im running a single t1 10 @ 2ohms with the gain right at 3. be advised im not pushing the sub hard at all. the amp is mounted to the back of the seat and it has plenty of room to breathe. ive had the system in for 3 days now i cant help but notice my amp gets super hot. the plastic case is very warm but the heatsink is literally hot enough to fry an egg on. ive been researching the whole "battery vs chassis" debate and i havent gotten anywhere close to a definitive answer as to which is better. 1 thing i did notice is that the ground wire from the negative battery terminal to the chassis is no bigger than 8 gauge(maybe 10). could the diff in wire gauge be the culprit? sorry the post is so long but i wanted give as much info as possible. also does any1 if its possible to do the big 3 on my car? my understanding is that my alternator is connected directly to my engine block thus making it pointless to "re-ground" it. i know u guys have answers so im all ears!!! 2013 Dodge Charger SXT Sport Package 1 DC Audio Level 3 10 / 1 RF T1000-1bdcp / RF 4 Gauge Wiring / Big 3 Upgrade
WastedTalent Posted August 24, 2014 Report Posted August 24, 2014 i'd for sure, without a doubt, do bigger wire from battery to chassis. 1/0. as for can you do big 3? of course. may be a PAIN IN THE FUCKING ASS but you can Sheena = pedobear

martydmb Posted August 26, 2014 Report Posted August 26, 2014 I did a 1/0 from chassis to frame. Its on passenger side of car above the shock mount. There is a small black wore that goes from chassis to engine block. I upgraded and kept that original on. Then I did a 1/0 from alt to chassis. There is a chassis ground below the shock mount also. Thats where I did alt to chassis. Then I did the 1/0 from batt to chassis. Then I ran a run of 1/0 front to back alt to batt. I have a mech 320 amp alt and 3 d3100 in the spare tire well. 05 dodge magnum rt DEH-80PRS Rockford fosgate T600.4 st200 tweeters Sundown Neo Pro 6.5 v2's 2 Saz-3500v2- Toolmaker dual 1/0 inputs 2 Sundown ZV4 12" D1 1/0 Sky High Power wire OFC 3 XS D3100- Toolmaker battery terminals Mechman 320 Amp Alt Smd Voltmeter KnuKoncept 1/0 OFC
