need help with a box design

I've recently blown my sub and have decided to purchase an american bass xfl1044 as a replacement that will be running on 1k rms. I want to build a box for it but i have no clue on what the volume should be, i would like to make a ported box, i'm pretty new to this stuff so any help would be appreciated
