HUMBOLDT_knock Posted March 28, 2008 Report Share Posted March 28, 2008 I have 1 Orion HCCA 12.4 and I have entered all parameters into this WinISD pro box design software. I have a 2.5^3 box design with a slot port 2.5"x12 15" long this gives me a tuning of 40Hz. With this tuning I get 7.65dB of gain from the enclosure. Now when I give the enclosure 35Hz tuning my gain form the enclosure is 5.8dB. Is it worth the extra gain to tune it to 40Hz? My other concern is about the roll off. 40Hz tuning @ -3dB is at 32Hz and -6dB is @ 30Hz with tuning of 35Hz @ -3dB is at 29Hz and -6dB is at 27Hz. Will tuning at 35 Hz allow the enclosure the play Hz in the 30's louder? Will a 40Hz enclosure cut off the 30Hz range too much?? I listen to rap this will be a daily driver and I do no comps.
