walwalka Posted October 31, 2014 Report Posted October 31, 2014 Thanks CJ. Given our budget i think the alt is the best route for us. I don't want to have to deal with continually charging AGM batteries to top them off. and a 3100 is basically as much as an alternator. What is this about bypassing the ELD? Is there one in my jeep? I have a 250 amp alt and a 2400 up front, but my coltage at idle will drop to low 12's. Is that to be expected or do i need to do this ELD thing You do not have an ELD in your jeep, it is a honda thing. There is a couple ways bypass it, first there is just unplugging it. Well that will throw a battery light depending on the year of the civic, then there is the right way. http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/139844-how-to-eld-bypass-for-honda-civicaccordfit/ 2010 Honda Civic LX / Deck: Kenwood DDX371 / Front Highs: Crescendo RTS-1 / Front Mids: Silver Flute 6.5's / 4 channel: DC Audio 90.4 / Sub: Fi 15in SP4v2 / Sub amp: Taramps HD 5000 / Power wire: Knukonceptz OFC 1/0 / Deadener: Audio Technix 60 mil / Batteries: XS Power D5100R / Rear bank: TBD / Alternator: Singer 240a hairpin
