Finally built my 4th order!

Recommended Posts

How's it going, guys? I haven't posted in a while, basically just been trolling about. I've been playing around with enclosures for some time now, experimenting with measurements and building just for test purposes. Figured I'd stop wasting money and get a proper design for my subs. Sorry, guys, this isn't a huge, multiple large sub build like a lot of the ones on here, but I'm more than happy with it, and I thought I'd share. This was my last experiment with enclosures. It sounded good, but I knew I could get more output if I built myself a proper box. So I hit up Ryan over at Ram Designs, and he made me a simple, yet really efficient 4th order. darwina87gmailcom-F_zps879a0b5e.png

I started by putting my port together.

CAM01248_zps89fea9ee.jpg

It's 8x8 inches, which based on the design, tunes out to 48hz.

Once the port was together, I went ahead and rounded the edges for that smooth airflow.

I just wanted to see how the port looked on the front panel. I like it already.

CAM01251_zps9a7fdfec.jpg

I then started getting my baffles together. I'm double baffling for strength.

Looks good to me. Now on to the next one.

I ran some screws through the baffles after gluing them since I don't have much in the line of clamps anymore. They seem to have up and disappeared on me.

After the baffles were done, I cut out the 45 which acts as an airflow guide. Simple enough and we all know that these little details make a difference.
