Bolt down or top post clamp style battery terminals? HELP

Recommended Posts

I dont have any batteries for my build yet

i am ordering the terminals and wiring this weekend

I was looking at some northstar batteries it appears they have top post style connections (g31s)

1 , Is there any difference performance wise to using bolt down or clamp style battery terminals? would think maybe top post is better more connection area

2, also if I want to use bolt down terminals (they seem to be cheaper then clamp style) do i need anything else?

3, does the top post just twist off and you can use a bolt to bolt them down?

waiting to order until i hear input from you guys, LMK pls

just run whatever works for you. I'm using regular AGM's with posts on top and using the military style battery terminals. if you are replacing the front battery and it has side post terminals try to buy something that has bolt down so it will be easier to re-wire stock electrical to it. otherwise its just preference.

For most people regular ol top post work fine, but if you are going to run a large bank in the rear bolt down make it easy to use buss bars.
