m.doza Posted December 21, 2014 Report Posted December 21, 2014 hello have a question for you guys with ho alternator just installed dual alternators with voltage regulators set at 14.8. After install battery light flashes tho alts are charging fine, any ideas how to get light to stop flashing?(light s driving me nuts) Vehicle is 2000 suburban, thanks in advance
conbon Posted December 23, 2014 Report Posted December 23, 2014 try unhooking your negative battery terminal then hooking it back up. itll reset all your radio stations if that isnt a big hassle for you but that usually works for me when i have lights turn on for no reason then they go back off. it might just be a minor glitch. 2013 Ford Focus Hatchback SE Kicker CS61234 Kicker 40CS674 Kicker KST25 Sundown Audio SA-12 D2 Rockford Fosgate t1000-1bdcp Rockford Fosgate t400-4 Audio Control LC7i Kinetik HC2000 0/1 Gauge Big 3 Upgrade Beer, babes, and bass.
SLYentist Posted December 24, 2014 Report Posted December 24, 2014 I also have a GM vehicle around that age, and i also have dual alts. I get a flicker of the battery light once in a blue moon. I haven't really narrowed down the source of the problem, but I haven't gotten it since i have been experimenting with various belt length vs idler pulley diameters. if you're under the hood, do you hear any belt slippage? Does the tensioner move a lot? Cables and wires almost never fail; the terminations do.
m.doza Posted December 25, 2014 Author Report Posted December 25, 2014 thanks for replies new belt and tensioner was installed same time as alternators. I'll try disconnecting battery wires again .thanks
