I recently soldered some OFC 0 gauge wire and I noticed it has lots of corrosion, I can pull back the insulation on the ends and see that green/blue powder building up on the copper. I just soldered the wire about two months ago and now it looks to be in bad shape.

So why is the wire getting corroded? The only things I can come up with is that I did not use electrical solder so that could have done it. I also have read that when there is too much flux left behind that it can cause corrosion; I was brushing the flux on and then using what ever solider I had around. So I think what I will do is start using electrical rosin core solder will that fix the issue?

Did you use acid core plumbing solder? If so, that's your problem. Acid core solder should NEVER be used on electrical connections. Only rosin core solder should be used on electronics.
