1995 (4) Door Tahoe ------(4) 15's and 5.0k

Well now that I have some time (and the wife's permission) I am building my Tahoe for MidwestSPL and USACi. This year I am just focusing on subs and a single amp.

In MidwestSPL I will be competing in Basic 4 and Xtreme 2.

In USACi I will be in Stock 751-1500

In all the classes, all equipment must be below the side windows. So no wall in the plans yet. Still need to get the kids to and from school.

List of Equipment to get me started:

(4) "Sonic Soundlabs" motors I am rebuilding from 18's to 15's (these were once in Stacy Adams van)

(1) DC 5.0k amplifier

(1) Northstar SMS AGM 440 Battery

(1) 275 Alternator

Next year I will focus on mids and highs. Since I am going for max spl and not a music class I am not to hung up on the highs right now.

This is my daily driven (2) car seat carrying Tahoe:

Now onto the subs. Here is where I got the first night I brought the blown subs home:

New 15" basket next to existing 18:

Box Design:

The blue in the photo is a removable face. So I can test using a slot port , aeros, and any other option I can dream up to get max spl. Right now after Sub displacement I have 14 cubes to play with. Leaving 6" from the rear of the box to back of the doors available.

I will also be rebuilding my sons power wheel for the 2015 season. Last year we ran a combination of DC, American Bass, and Planet Audio equipment. This year at finals I had the privilege to talking to the guys at SoundQubed. After a few emails back and forth I will be running all SoundQubed equipment next year. Can't wait to see how the 8's hold up to beating they will receive. Here are a few photos of my son at Finals

Driving to the lanes:

We took 2nd to this powerwheel. After learning a few tricks we look forward to seeing this in the lanes next year

Holy Crap... I did not know anyone from around here was still into Car Audio systems and Comps...

Your sh!t should slam... I think its pretty cool how you got the kids in on the Comps with the Power Wheels and what not!!!

Where are they doing that now??? I haven't heard anything about Comps since we were going to Bartel Hall or where ever it was...

I just put a small system in my 2005 Trail Blazer.

Pioneer Head Unit (not happy with it) Sirius and IPod as sources...

Polk Mids and Tweets in F/R doors.

15" FI Audio BTL ""Fully Loaded" Whatever that ment, in a 4.5 CuFT vented Enclosure

2 XS Power BAtts, one under hood, one in rear

Big three up front, 2 Runs of 0ga Power front rear

Toolmaker-metalworkz Battery Terminal Distribution Blocks

Sundown 2500D powering Sub

Sundown 150-4 powering Front and Rears

Mech Man HO Alt...

Sounds Pretty good for a daily driver, but I don't think it'd win any Comps...

Other than the stereo and Alarm, truck is Bone Stock...

Scott this is Travis from back in the S-series days.

Midwest SPL hosts most of its shows down in Eureka at SB Audio

http://midwestspl.hoop.la/

Then of course USACi has a couple shows here and there over at Gateway Raceway. The next one is the IFO show April 19th

I recently got back into the audio scene last year for my son. Then after meeting a few guys in the area and building a few boxes for people, i decided to get some equipment and get back into the scene. So we will see how it goes. The whole scene and equipment has changed so much since we use to compete back in early 2000.

You will be surprised when you read over the rules for Midwest there are some competitive classes for everyone. Not like back in the days
