sdotx Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 Hey everybody this is my first post hopefully you pros here can help. I have two precision power 18s and they're pretty nasty already but I've only got them running off a 1501d mtx thunder amp. So they're pretty much half powered. I wanna push them to their max rms which is 1600 watts each, 3200 max. So I just ordered a crescendo bc35001d, and a crescendo c1100.4. So far I've been running stock electrical with a small kinetik hc600 under the seat which I think is probably going or gone, I've been have slight dimming problems. I wanna go about this the right way and get a new alternator and battery(s) but I'm not really getting the whole 12v 16v thing I see some people running 12v xs batteries like the d3100 but then there's a bunch of other 14v batteries too. Hopefully someone can get me in the right direction to get this done quick thanks guys.

People run different voltage systems in their car to seperate their audio system from everything else. The choice is yours but it gets even more expensive. Reach out to an aftermarket alternator company and get options for your vehicle. In no particular order there are DC Power, Singer and Mechman. Only 3 I would run. For what you are talking about, a good under the hood battery, and maybe 1 more should do fine with the right alternator. Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
sdotx Posted March 5, 2015 Author Report Posted March 5, 2015 Well I've got about about a little under 1,500 left in my budget after buying the amps, so what would you recommend like if I was to just grab some stuff off ebay, I see a few mech man alternators on there, there's a 270 on there for like $449. Or should I go with the 350?

sdotx Posted March 5, 2015 Author Report Posted March 5, 2015 OK gotcha, ad far as the batteries go should I got 12v or 14? And what side do you think will give me the power I need?
rockFord_Expedition Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 If you go 14V your vehicle still needs a 12V system. You charge at 2ish volts higher than battery rest, so if you run a 14V system you need to charge at high 16's Im not going to tell you to go 14V Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
sdotx Posted March 5, 2015 Author Report Posted March 5, 2015 OK can any xs agm go under the hood? Is there a specific 1 I can get 2 of that would not be over 3 or 400 a piece
rockFord_Expedition Posted March 5, 2015 Report Posted March 5, 2015 I don't mind helping, but this isn't a one stop shop. A little research is ok to do on your own just so you know. No, any XS power will not do under the hood. S and D series will work. Pricing, hit up WcCarAudio.com or any other authorized XS Dealer.
