Baking enamel in the oven?

I dont use the stuff, but my grandfather used to make crafts n such, he built a homemade oven for his woodshop to dry paint and stain out of a wood box, tin foil and some high watt light bulbs.

Just make sure you clean the parts very good.

Is sand blasting too much?

AMEN to that, sand blasting is best method for most engine parts but if they come in contact with the oiling system you should probably refrain from that. I base clear engine parts and they come out very nice / no problems with heat. Good clean part and a good primer is key.
