dangaranga Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 there is usually 2 knobs associated with bass boost (also called, bass eq, sub eq etc), a boost frequency (what hz to boost) and how much to boost that selection. Don't mess with these, just leave them off or at the lowest settings (only advanced users should use these, they have no real purpose in the spl side of things) and can introduce distortion if used incorrectly there is a Low pass knob, this adjusts the limit of what passes through the amp, everything below the set Freq will be played A sub sonic knob, this is set (usually 6ish hz below box tuning) to prevent the sub from playing below a desired frequency and potentially damaging it Some amps have phase shift adjustments, Most common is a switch for 0o-180o it essentially flips the output polarity to the sub, useful when inverting subs. also a knob is used to adjust shift to avoid dead zones or cancellation issues Brandon 2000 Furd Ranger supercab 4x4 System: welding wire throughout the truck USalts 390amp Hairpin Juicebox in stock location 8 Banks of maxwell supercaps 2 American Bass Vfl 1100.1 wired to .35 each 2 Fi Audio Sp4 18's ( the DD sc 9918's smoked) Pioneer radio with Soundstream PA mids Powered by a nice sized soundstream 2 channel It's pronounced (dain-ja rain-ja) 2001 2 door focus 1 DD9918 SC

dangaranga Posted March 30, 2015 Report Posted March 30, 2015 I'd say 27ish on the subsonic. It's really a guessing game without the proper tools. I'd play around with some music and see where the box response rolls off below tuning and set the subsonic there. The low pass is also guess work, but 80-120hz range is a starting point, adjust it from there based on how the sub responds.
