graham0599
So recently I decided to do one of the xbox power supply builds for my surround system. I did it for just a fun project and it actually turned out great. What I'm needing help with is turning the power supply it self on. Right now the amp just has a jumper from the positive to the remote. The power supply has a switch. I'm needing help figuring out a way for it to automatically turn on instead of me flipping a switch every time i turn the receiver on too. For any one that doesn't know, here's how the power supply is wired 1. 3-4 yellow wires, pos side of amp 2. 3-4 black wires, neg side of amp 3. red wire and blue wire ran to switch, i believe it's a 5v rail. When the red and blue are connected (switch turned on) the power supply goes from stand by to on, the amp turns on and is ready to play. I have an onkyo receiver that has a 12v plug, looks like an 1/8" headphone jack. I just have no idea how to wire it with a relay or what. Thanks for the help My 350z build- http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/174424-2008-350z-build/page-2?hl=%2B350z+%2Bbuild#entry2605678

Wicks
How about one of these: http://pac-audio.com/productDetails.aspx?ProductId=790&CategoryID=31 What Onkyo do you have? Some quick research I did showed a 12V trigger that was only tied to Zone2 which has some limitations. Some quick research I did showed a 12V trigger that was only tied to Zone2 which has some limitations. I may end up doing that. I'm looking into switching to a computer power supply which will provide more amperasge and if I'm correct, uses 12v to turn on. Right now the xbox supply the red and blue wires have to be connected to work, I cant just apply power to one.
