It will never do rated. Your voltage drop will just not be as bad.

then neither will sundown.... same identical amp

this is wrong.

the parts used are very different.

while the board layout may look the same, hifonics uses parts that have a low tolerance (cheaper)

sundown uses parts that have a high tolerance and will perform much better than the cheaper parts.

this is why there is such a huge price difference.

and if youre wondering, is it worth it to spend almost double for better parts?

it is. life is too short for junk, but still better than nothing at all.

i had a 1500 watt brutus amp when they first came out many years ago . it was powering a dual 4 ohm earthquake magma it would make the coil smell if you slammed on it hard all day. I would guess it was at 1000 -1200 watts rms . not complete garbage as the person I sold it to back in 2007 still has it hooked up in their jeep . I did notice at night my voltage would drop on the car and lights would dim a bit I had to upgrade to a 150amp 3g alternator and a stinger battery . Damn battery cost 2x more than the amp... :lol:
