gsean430
Thinking of building a ported box to fit over my sealed. Everything i read about fourth order bandpass boxes seem to be different on every site. One thing i noticed with sealed boxes is that it hits the lows very well. I would like the volume of a ported box but the quality of a sealed. Is this a good idea?
Triticum Agricolam
Unfortunately band pass boxes are something that are never very well understood by many people. The reason you see lots of different, and probably conflicting, information is a lot of people are misinformed about what they do and how they work. Band pass boxes have situations in which they perform well, but they are pretty specific. Most of the time you will be much better served by a well designed ported box. What sub do you have, what vehicle, what amp? What kind of music do you listen to and what do you use your system for?
