Has anyone ever taken a sub and amp on a plane in your carry-on luggage?

Ok, I think I'm going to try it. It's only a small 10 and tiny amp, should be ~25lbs combined. I'm not going for a long trip so I should have plenty of space in my backpack. I plan on being searched, I can imagine the large slug of metal and tons of wire and weird electronics will look suspicious on the x-ray! I don't see anything on the restricted list that would stop me from bringing it.

Oh, and watch out because if you get a shitty small plane, they make you gate-check your carry-on unless it can fit under the seat in front of you anyways.

That might happen, ORD to GRR is often small planes. I'll try to keep it as small as possible.
