MusicHead804 Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 I have 2 hds 312s on a power acoustik 6000d, i undertsnad its not the best setup but the shit bangs. I was just thinking of adding another one and hook both of them up to each sub. Sounds like a bad idea or good idea?

Lakeshow94 Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 id say youre a little shy in the electrical department. Another thing to consider is typically you don't want to overpower subs unless its clean good power. Idk if id call what is coming out of power acoustiks completely clean........ id just wait and invest in a better amp. even something like this would probably do better http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_94827_Hifonics-BRX3016.1D.html 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.5

Lakeshow94 Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 oh shit i never noticed that amp honestly, you just gave me something to look into hifonics is a good budget amp. I've ran them in the past with good results. alot of power for 340 bucks too. id consider adding another battery/upgrading the alt before you upgrade to 3k plus though. 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.5
MusicHead804 Posted September 9, 2015 Author Report Posted September 9, 2015 I'm not gonna be able to get a alt anytime soon, so i'll just have to run it with the battery in the back
Lakeshow94 Posted September 9, 2015 Report Posted September 9, 2015 I'm not gonna be able to get a alt anytime soon, so i'll just have to run it with the battery in the back if you go that route i'd definitely get a volt meter. Even if its a cheap cigarette lighter style. Just something to monitor voltage so you can see how low it goes. Dropping below 12v can damage an amp/send distortion and damage subs. id suggest the vm-1 since its analog although it kind of goes against saving money............... 1999 Lexus GS 300 Pioneer DEH-80PRS Singer 240 Amp (Will be installed later) Northstar Group 31 & 24 Sundown SCV-4000 Rockford T400-4 2 12" CT Sound Meso CT Sounds 6.5 Meso Components CT Sounds Tropo 6.5
