lucifer Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 Hello fellas . New to the group but have came here for advice and reading a few times in the past thanks for the great wealth of knowledge and advice in advance. My problem is a serious power draw/flux which I believe is unwarranted . Equipment is as follows 2012 xterra . Mexhman 270 alt. Big3 upgrade knukoncepts 0 ga . Xs power 5100 battery. Mb quart 80x4 and mb quart 2000x1 at 1 ohm. I'm am experiencing heavy power flux even at max output of the alternator .Dimming lights etc . Not sure what to check first. Mexhman rep told me with my set up I should be fine with no issues. Any help and advice appreciated in advance.
rockFord_Expedition Posted September 18, 2015 Report Posted September 18, 2015 Headlight dimming alone isn't a bad sign necessarily. It just means that there is a change in voltage. Your vehicle electrical system, even with a beefy alt, upgraded wiring etc. isn't designed to keep up with the rapid change in current draw that your audio system is creating. How low is your voltage dropping, where and how are you measuring it? Old School/New School RF Build March 2015 SOTM Winner How to crimp large wire
lucifer Posted September 19, 2015 Author Report Posted September 19, 2015 In car dash gauge . Gauge lights also flex hard . Headlight literally bounce with the beat . I'm thinking poor inadaquate ground for the 2000 amp . I had a 1000 amp before with no power issues.
