Tyler Schaap
I currently have a Rockford P1000 running two P3 12's. I want to upgrade to 1 x-12 for now, i am just wondering if the p1000x1 would run this sub sufficiently. I have all Rockford fosgate 4 gauge with an ANL fuse. The battery is also grounded. I can't find my birth sheet for the amp but Rockfords amp normally always put out more than they say. Thoughts?
audiofanaticz
yes, a 1000watt rms amp would do well for the woofer. Its only 250 watts under the woofers rating, but 250watts is something that is generally not audible. Plus Im sure your amp is slightly underrated like you said. Besides you could always step up to a bigger amplifier down the road if you really wanted to.
Frank H
I ran my X12 on an Alpine 1000w amp for a couple months before upgrading. More power is definitely better but 1000w will still move that woofer! My x12 is the V.2 which is rated at 1500w btw.
