I want to run RF T2500@ 4 ohms

Recommended Posts

Recently I built a T-Line box for two cheap JL audio 10's and I am really liking the sound that i get out of this box. I do however want to run more power than these subs can handle. I have a T2500 sitting here and I was looking at a Fi BL 15 to build another T-line as the specs are right. Now my question is, if i run the T2500@4 ohms, will a stock alternator be enough? I have a xs power S3400 up front with the big3 done. Was just curious for some input :). THanks in advance guys...

Build in progress:

Kenwood DNX890HD

2 Rockford Fosgate T2500's on sub

1 Fi car audio Team 15 D1

XS Power D3400 and three D975's in the rear

Mechman Elite 370

Stinger power connections and cable

its 150A. No this new box will need about 176in^2 of port, the old one is too small.

With that alternator you might get away with it. But I would shoot for a 200a alternator. You can add a small XS power battery in the rear. Like a D975

thats what i was thinking. Im i love with T-line boxes now. I would like to get the one i have metered just to see what it does. The damn thing gets loud for only being on 100-150 watts. I have the JL-Wx 10's in it. they were the cheapest thing i could find outside of going to walmart.

You already have the t2500. Why not get a bigger sub and wire it to 1 ohm. A 200a alternator is going to cost you just as much as a 250a alternator. You will need a bigger battery in the rear though

because the woofer im looking at meets the "criteria" for a transmission line enclosure and it only takes 1500watts Rms. you do not want to overpower it because it is technically "free air". You will bottom out the sub. That is the whole point of the question, will my 150A alt keep up with a T2500@4ohm :)
