Dakota Railsback
I have 4 l5 15s and the box that they are going in would leave each sub with about 2.5 cubic feet after the port. The minimum recommended for a ported box is 3.0 cubic feet. Do you think this will work about tuned at around 30 - 35 hz?
Triticum Agricolam
What subs? What amp? How much port area? Dakota Railsback
The total SQ Port area would be 78in ( https://gyazo.com/ada785bb9ef56781350b91543943db0b ) and the subs are 4 L5 Solo Barics, the amps are Rockford Punch 800.2s and everything is wired to 4 ohms. Triticum Agricolam
Boy, you are rocking the old-school hardware. So, I can't really give you an informed opinion because I haven't worked with those subs before and Kicker doesn't publish hardly any specs on them. They will probably work in 2.5 cubes each, but its below Kickers recommendation of 3-6 cu ft each. I've played with the 12" version of those subs and they liked a big box, so performance is probably going to be less than ideal with what you want to do. Also, I'd avoid that RE audio box calculator, it doesn't account for sub displacement and has other things that make it less than ideal. Carbo
Using the parameters from here winisd shows that it wants a big box for it to hit the lower freq's. Also on that page it says in the box recommendations that it wants 6 cubes + port for "deep bass/SPL" If I were you I'd seal off 2 of the holes for the woofers and run 2 so that you get 5 cubes each. Here's a a graph of the predicted response: Blue line is 2 l5 15's in a 10 cube box tuned to 33hz Green line is 4 l5 15's in a 10 cube box tuned to 33hz
