melly Posted March 21, 2016 Report Posted March 21, 2016 Hey guys I am I the of building a car audio system, I have two audiopipe Q12 inch subwoofers, dual 4..2000watts, 1000rms each. I am a basshead kinda guy..so I am thinking of running an epicenter audio control with a subsonic chip at 20hz. But im not sure about the box size and specs. Is there anyone that can assist me please..thanks in advance

AudioPipe recommends 2 cu ft per sub, which is a very reasonable number. They also recommend a 39 Hz tuning, which you are probably going to want to go lower. With something like a 32 Hz tune you should get usable output down to the mid 20s with cabin gain factored in. 30 sq in of port area per sub, so 60 total should work well. I don't have any experience with an Epicenter audio control EQ. Like any other EQ it can't increase the maximum output of your system, but it can make some frequencies sound louder relative to others. Patrick Bateman Posted March 24, 2016 Report Posted March 24, 2016 I have an epicenter.I'm not 100% happy with it, but I know how it works, adding subsonic harmonics to the music.You're going to have a difficult time 'cranking it up;' the Epicenter REALLY lowers your maximum SPL.If I were designing a system around it, I'd use a sub that's tuned to a very very low frequency. 25hz or even lower. And be sure to use a steep highpass around 15-20hz.
