build my own compression driver.

Recommended Posts

can i buy a diaphragm replacement for a compression driver and add it to a subwoofer magnet that has a pole vent (hole designed for cooling) then seal the back over the diaphragm (if necessary) and add the horn (cone cylinder) . I see on the regular compression magnets the part in between the coil gap and the vent (or i guess on a compression driver it is called the throat) has what looks to be plastic that shapes close to the diaphragm idk if there is any such thing as a reed (but that would create an awful resonation I would think) or maybe it is magnet or magnetic conductor that helps to keep the efficiency of the drivers high. let me hear some thoughts.
