from a quick google search which led to a find on ebay... this is what it states.

SLB-R4 (4 channel) to receive the balanced signal and convert it so your standard amp can have the advantages of the SymbiLink System.

The SLB-R4 allows the system to drive two amplifiers from a single receiver and still maintain any fading functions.

4-Channel Balanced Line Receiver

· Allows any system to recognize SymbiLink™ Balanced technology.

· Creates a closed, balanced system using a SymbiLink™ Balanced transmitter

· Quality ZAPCO construction

** Designed and Manufactured in the USA **

Basically allows an amp to learn some kind of newer technology?

It is for Zapco but can be used on nonzapco products too.

What it does is it converts an analog signal into a Balanced signal, thus eliminating any floor noise from signal. If you dont have a Zapco amp at the other end you will need 2 symbilink transmitters to convert it twice( one at the source from analog-to-balanced, then at the amp balanced-to-analog).

Really only reason to go balanced is to get rid of noise, if you dont have noise you are wasting money.

btw i make Symbilink cables(just the din cables)

yea if you have no noise at all in your system. its completely useless to use. May as well sell it and make a few bucks, they arent cheap from zapco since you got it free, its all profit for you :)
