98 dodge dakota back seat removed soundqubed HDC 3.115

okay i have 1 soundqubed hdc 3.115 sub and a hiphonix brx2400 amp

i want to put it into my truck ive removed my seat and all the paneling except for the side speakers in the rear

im thinking port up and sub up will be the safest and best sounding for the speaker since the seats lean back im not sure how i could design a slanted subwoofer box with a port so im going with a simple rectangular box unless you have any input because ive only built sealed boxes before that that turned out great but ported for me is a different story

the dimensions i have are tight but somewhat comfortable fit the height or "depth" since the sub and port are going on the top of the box can be lowered im just giving MAX dimensions from the back window cant be changed at all 18 inches is the max i can do for that the width of the box from door to door is perfect what sucks is the rear left and right speakers are 18 inches from the floor so i really dont have 24 inches of room for the height

18 - 24 inches deep(this is the the top of the sub box where the speaker and port will be to the floor)

47 inches wide (this is from door to door)

and 18 inches high (this is from the back window to the back of the seat)

on their site it recommends 3.00^ft - 6.00^ft for the one 15 my question is what would you do in my situation I like bass and I'm willing to do a 6 cubic foot enclosure and sacrifice me being able to lean my seat back but if I don't need that big of a box and can get away with a smaller one I would rather that I want to tune it to 30-33 hz

Download a subwoofer box calculator on your phone and play with the numbers ??? Slot port is the easiest to build IMO. If you have android, go on google play store and download "ultimate car audio app" plug in your dementions and it will tell you your box size... If it was my set up, since you say thet gave you a range of 3-6ft^3 i would do 4 cubes net and tune to what ever Hz you want with 60 sq inches of port... On that app you can figure all that out.

On the app i plugged in 38 wide 18 high 18 depth port is 16.5 wide 3.5 high 28 long

Came out to 4.15 ft^3 tuned to 33hz with 57.7 sq inches of port... I accounded for .2 sub displacement (not correct because i didnt look it up) you will need to account for box bracing and sub displacement so you will need to download the app and tweak with the specs....

Thank you I ended up making the box and it's perfect but just not hitting the low notes in the 20hz range could that be my sub sonic or lpf ? I have the lpf at 50hz and he sub sonic at 15hz with bass booster off set gain with the dd1 on head unit I have lpf for the sub at 50hz

Could be a few things, how the box is tuned. How much power is applied. How strong your electrical is, (playing below 30hz is more "strainful" on ur amp vs playing at 40+ hz). Your voltage could be dipping down too much thus producing less output. Higher impedance rise at lower frequency... What kinda of amp are you running ?
