BEEKAY
I have a 2005 Tahoe that has recently been charging very high. I know this truck has the ground clamp sensor that controls voltage. I've already done the big three and have a single 1/0awg cable going through the sensor to the alternator bracket. No other grounds under the hood. Before this issue started happening I would charge around 14.2 during the day and 14.8 at night with the headlights on. Now all of a sudden I am charging around 15.2 during the day and 15.6 at night. This has never happened before and nothing has changed. I was running a Singer 300 that was being regulated by the truck just fine but that took a shit on me. Threw stock alt back on and everything was fine until about 2 weeks ago. There is a total of 5 batteries in the truck, 3 in the back and 2 under the hood. I took the three from the back out because I am prepping for a wall but the issue is still there. Anyone know why I could be charging so damn high all of a sudden? Stock alt taking a shit on me?
