3 12" 4 ohm dual coilover wiring

Hey guys, im new here and still a newbie to sound systems. Was wondering if you could wire 3 subs at 1 ohm and if so how would i go about that? I have 3 RF hx2 500 watt rms with a hifonics brutus 1700.1D amp but it just doesnt sound as good as when i had it hooked up to my cheapo amp rated at 3600 watts. So im trying to figure out if maybe i have it hooked up wrong? Im new to this and dont really have the money to take it to a shop and dont have the correct tools

2.67 is the lowest you can wire those subs in that configuration. you are probably less than 900 watts with that amp.
