fordpride
Looking for opinions on using 6 skar vd-8's on a skar rp2000.1 in 3cubes sealed under the rear seat of a 2012 ram 1500. Currently I have 2 12's on a r500.1 in 3 cubes. Would the 6 8's out perform my currant setup? Mainly I just want something different and unique but if it would be a step backwards then it's back to the drawing board.
Vice03
Well 6 8s is more surface area, but it's not double. All things being equal (which they aren't neccesarily) you could gain 1-2 dBs just on the sub swap. Would you hear/notice a difference? Maybe a touch. Likely not. Doubling power a could of times could potentially increase your SPL by 6 or so dB as well. Do things really work like this? Nope - you could be louder or you could be quieter. It depends. It _should_ be louder than what you have if you do it right. Is it the best use of your money though?
fordpride
My biggest issue is magnet diameter I can't go over 6" diameter. See my issue
