BEEKAY
Third Build: 2 Team AA 18s on 1 Ampere 5k @ 1About a month after having the single Team AA I ordered another Team. The second sub took much longer, almost double the time in fact. But it was around the holidays so it was expected. All was good thoughbecause I still needed to get the box built for the 2 subs which starts here.
BEEKAY
Second Team came in just over a month later from ordering. It was perfect timing because I was just finishngup the box at the time. Here are the two beasts togetherOut with the old and in with the new!Good picture I got of the truck and beautiful mountains we have here in New MexicoWhen I originally ran my power wire I did not have the auxilary battery in so all the runs came from thestock location on the driver side. Now that I had the auxilary battery in it was time to move all theruns to the passanger side to run off the auxilary battery. I was dreading this for a long time but finallygot motivation to do it. BEEKAY
Got some decals, terminals, and an SMD fuse holder. Now that the wires were finally ran on the passanger side of the truck I could run them off the auxbattery and make everything nice and clean with the SMD fuse holder. You'll notice that I didn'tchange the terminal on the negative side. That was out of pure laziness and not wanting to crimp ring terminals. That gets changed later on in the build lol.It was time to get rid of those terrible door trim pieces and debadge the entire truck.Bought a triple alt bracket. Some videos of the two Teams playing on a single Amere 5k at 1ohm. BEEKAY
Found an awesome local deal from a great guy on this Ampere 7500 surfboad. I couldnt resit getting it.It barely fit between the seats, it was a tight fit but all was good. Here are some videos of the two Teams on a single Ampere 7.5k they still wanted more power. BEEKAY
Fourth Build: 2 Team AA 18s Cpillar 4th Order Wall on 2 Ampere 5ks @ .5 each Disclaimer: This is my first wall build, I'm just going with the flow. 9 days later I decided to say fuck it and wall the truck so everything came out. My brother has 2 AA Mayhem 12s on a single Ampere 5k. When he saw the 7500 he wanted it for his ride. So I traded him the 7.5k for his Ampere 5k and cash on his end. Now I have two Ampere 5ks and he has the Ampere 7.5k so it all worked out. Here's the 7500 in my brothers ride. Got some 1/4" plywood for the start of the roof for the wall. Got the headliner pulled and found some pretty funny things. First off I found a pair of pliers that I lost when I first took the headliner down for the sound deadner. Second I found out all but one wire is ripped out of the sunroof motor from the flex. Which explains why my sunroof stopped working lmao.
BEEKAY
Starting to get layers of 1/4" plywood on the roof with lots and lots of PL and 2x4 supports for 24 hours Ended up being 4 layers of 1/4" plywood by the end of it. Getting a flat layer of 3/4" MDf up on the roof for more support. Getting any gaps in the roof between the 1/4" layers and 3/4" layer foamed up. Tore carpet out and got a layer of MDF on the floor. Double 3/4" layer sides were glued and screwed in. Angle piece in the back screwed and PLd in.
BEEKAY
Back wall and 45s in the corners to connect everything were in. I was gonna cut wood pieces to fill up the corners but with just a circular saw it would have been more difficult than I wanted it to be lol. So I opted to go with a steel fencing and fiberglass method. A layer of wire fencing to help give shape to the corner and about 5 layers of mat and resin for strength. They came out pretty solid. It was time to revist the power and ground runs for the last time! There was a lot of slack that I tucked away under the hood. Now that my batteries are in the back I need that slack to be in the cab. So I cut all the zip ties once again and pulled all that slack up in the cab and rewired the aux battery again. You can see all the slack I am reffering to in the first couple of pics. Started cutting baffles. Got the first baffle up as a test here. There is angle iron on the inside of the sealed section for support. 4 layers and some angle iron later.
BEEKAY
Back batteries being wired up. This is what the truck looked like for the majority of this wall build lmfao. I was impatient and did not want to wait for a jasper jig to get sent to me so I made all my circle cuts by hand with a jigsaw so a lot of sanding was in store to ensure the surrounds did not rub since they are inverted. After a lot of sanding and the help of a flush trim bit I got them good enough to prevent rubbing. Not perfect by any means though.
BEEKAY
With help from my brother we got the subs loaded. Big thanks to him as he did most of heavy lifting. Time to get these subs wired up. Messing around with the port fitting Double layer loading wall was cut and screwed in with the port. Everything is being sealed with foil tape temporarily for testing purposes. If all goes well it was will be PLd in place permanently.
BEEKAY
So that is where the truck stands right now. There is a lot still to be done so stay tuned for more. Here are some videos of the truck playing with the 4th order wall. This thing straght smashes the lows. Most of the lowest notes you see in the videosare 23 and under.Keep in mind this is only on one amp at 1ohm for now and nothing is sealed up, it's leaking everywhere. I'll be dropping the second 5k in very soon.RIP Sunroof Thanks to anyone who goes through this log. Took forever to compile all these pictures and get the uploaded.
