Bassin Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 Ok so its time to build another sub box for my sa 12v.3 this time using an aero port (suck at slot ports) tunning GOAL is 32 hz at 2.0cu.ft. will be throwing 750-1.2k watts at it. The problem is im affraid of the port noise idk if i should use 2 3" aeros=14.9 in^2, 1 4" aero=12.94 in^2 , now ik sundown recommendes 2.0cuft max but with these i have to have 3.0cuft. So 2 4"aeros=25.88in^2 and finally 1 6" aero=28.6 in^2. Originally i was going for the single 4" aero but then i started to think about the port noise becuase the port area per foot was 6.43. Last question if i do go for the 3.0 cu ft box at 32 hz will it still play the other notes like 28-50i mostly listen to decaf and rap thats its so i think i should be good. Btw this will be in a car or suv most likely a 2004 mustang oh and its a daily driver setup.
Triticum Agricolam Posted August 1, 2017 Report Posted August 1, 2017 For a 2.0 cu ft box a 6" port is way to go with the amount of power you are going to be running. Either two 3" ports or one 4" port isn't nearly enough port area. With a 3.0 cu ft box a 6" port works, but its starting to be a bit on the small side. A 8" port would be great, but its a bit bigger than you need and its going to have to be pretty long to get your tuning were you want. A 7" port would perfect, but no one makes those AFAIK.
