Chase k Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 I'm needed some recommendation on an enclosure for a single soundquebed HDS315. I have around 7cuft of box space to play with. Does anyone have any experience building enclosures for this subwoofer? I was thinking somewhere around 4cuft box tuned at 30-35 hz. What would be a good recommendation for port area? I included a kinda crappy picture but it is roughly what I am looking to do to my enclosure. I'm am going to buy a skar audio RP-1500.1D to power this setup. Does anyone have any good or bad luck with this type of build?
Triticum Agricolam Posted February 28, 2018 Report Posted February 28, 2018 4 cu ft is good number for net volume. How low you tune depends on how low you want to be able to play. The HDS315 rolls off a little quicker on the low end than other subs, so you might want to tune a bit lower. Keep in mind the lower you tune you are going to give up some peak SPL, everything is a tradeoff. For port area, on 1500 watts I'd suggest no less than 60 sq in. Chase k Posted February 28, 2018 Author Report Posted February 28, 2018 Thanks Triticum agricolam for the feedback. I'm wanting to play as low as 30 hz but want to try and hit 145db also. Do you think this is possible? I would consider tuning higher to Get there but don't wanna be tuned at 45hz and it Have a high peak and fall off super fast
