Next-Lab SPL Sensor — SPL meter

Description

New sound pressure sensor is intended for use together with data analysis units such as Next-LCD and Next-USB. The device has an internal ADC. The signal is digitized inside the sensor and is transmitted in digital form via the Lab-bus. This prevents distortion and noise pollution of the measured signal in the process of transmitting. The signal can be transmitted over a cable of a distance up to 10 meters. The Next-Lab SPL Sensor has broadened amplitude range and a noise reduction system, which allows performing measurements with accuracy up to 0.1 dB. Each copy of the device undergoes thorough inspection and calibration.

Ergonomics

The device is performed as a monoblock, combining the high-frequency solid-state sensor, ADC module and Lab-Bus interface. The device has one Lab-Bus port for transmitting data. At the back cover, there are vacuum suction cups for affixing the device onto any smooth surface such as glass for example. The case of the device is made of shockproof plastic material.

Next-Lab RTA Microphone -Microphone for measuring AFC

Description

New measuring microphone, Next-Lab RTA Microphone, is intended for use together with data analysis units such as Next-LCD and Next-USB. The device has an internal ADC. The signal is digitized inside the microphone and is transmitted in digital form via the Lab-bus. This prevents distortion and noise pollution of the measured signal in the process of transmitting. The signal can be transmitted over a cable of a distance up to 10 meters. The microphone is intended for measuring the amplitude-frequency characteristic (AFC) and the harmonic distortion coefficient of acoustic systems in the entire audible frequency range with high accuracy. The omnidirectional, electret microphone inset that is used in the device has linear AFC which minimizes the characteristic spread among the devices within one batch. High sensitivity of the device is achieved by using the internal low frequency amplifier; lower-range value is 50 dB. Each copy of the device undergoes thorough inspection and calibration.

Ergonomics

The Next-Lab RTA Microphone for measuring AFC has an anodized, aluminum body that contains the highly sensitive, omnidirectional, electret, microphone inset, low frequency amplifier, ADC unit and Lab-Bus interface. The device has one Lab-Bus port for transmitting data. In the body of the device around the microphone inset, there are special notches for receiving smoother directional characteristic. The acoustically correct construction of the device allows receiving the input signal that is as close as possible to the original signal. If necessary, the microphone can be installed on a stand.

Functions

  • Measuring the characteristics of home, car or concert hall acoustic systems in the entire audible range
  • Setting of acoustic systems
  • Defining and setting the cut-off frequencies for crossovers and internal filters
  • Fine harmonizing of audio system components
  • Preparation and holding of auto sound contests for sound quality (SQ) divisions or sound volume(SQL) for High Spl Editon
  • Spectral analysis of a signal - getting the AFC
  • Quantitative evaluation of the frequency-response ripple
  • Defining the harmonic distortion coefficient
  • Receiving and analysing the signal waveform

Package Contents

  • Microphone for measuring AFC
  • Lab-Bus connection cable

Next-Lab Power Sensor – The device for measuring the power characteristics of signal and power circuits

Description

New power sensor is intended for use together with data analysis units such as Next-LCD and Next-USB. The device has an internal dual-channel ADC. The signal is digitized inside the sensor and is transmitted in digital form via the Lab-bus. This prevents distortion and noise pollution of the measured signal in the process of transmitting. The signal can be transmitted over a cable of a distance up to 10 meters. It is important to note that the sensor has an electric protection system for preventing injuries when working with high voltage and current circuits. The Next-Lab Power Sensor is an all-purpose meter for taking voltammetric characteristics of power and signal circuits as well as it can perform measurements of both high values up to 300 volt and 1200 ampere and small values from 1 volt and 1 ampere in direct and alternating current circuits. In addition to measuring current and voltage, it is possible to measure power, impedance, frequency, harmonic distortion coefficient, amplitude-frequency characteristic and waveform of a signal. For measuring the alternating current/voltage and power, the True RMS algorithm is used. The sensor takes measurements of direct current and voltage (power) used by car amplifiers, as well as alternating current and voltage (power) delivered by the amplifiers to subwoofer or other acoustic components. The device can be connected to the audio path, for example, between car audio and amplifier, for measuring and estimating the low current circuit characteristics, such as amplitude, waveform, AFC and coefficient of harmonic distortion.
The Next-Lab Power Sensor can carry out measurements and evaluate quality not only of the car electrical system but also of home and industrial electric networks with power up to 360 kW with voltages up to 300 V and current up to 1200 ampere.

Ergonomics

The device is performed as a monoblock, combining the contactless current sensor, dual-channel ADC module, electric protection system and Lab-Bus interface. The device has one Lab-Bus port for transmitting data and RCA jack for measuring voltage or for connecting the low current signal source. The current sensor has an opening for cabling of a diameter up to 22 mm. The case of the device is made of shockproof plastic material.

Functions

  • Quality index assessments of home and industrial electric networks
  • Measuring direct current, voltage and power(Hall sensor version only)
  • Measuring alternating current, voltage and power according to the True RMS algorithm
  • Measuring impedance of acoustic systems
