Tub Asko Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 About how much will this amp run at 1 ohm? Any ideas? I'm probably gonna be running two of these at 1 ohm in the new build. Just curious. Quote Facebook Youtube Murdered '07 Silverado

EricM9104 Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 didnt think they were 1ohm stable... If you've got the electrical to back it up (and aren't a n00b to setting it up) it should be fine..... bassbaker15 Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 oh. ive not had one of these personaly, but ive messed around with a buddys 1500.1, cuz he dunno how to hook it all up, but every time i tryed to run the sub at 1ohm, it would just kick off. even turned all the way down on the amp, and everything on the H/U.i did the big 3, and added a battery in the back too. still didnt perform at 1 ohm...so idk. guess im just a n00b at setting it up Quote Team Deadly Hertz 1997 GMC 1500 Update.... The ZX2500.1 is the only Kicker amp I've heard of running @ 1 ohm. I'm just going by word of mouth though sooo I could be wrong.. bassbaker15 Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 ok least there is someone else on my side of this, i was starting to think i was an idiot. btw why would you need this to run at 1 ohm? if you wanna run these amps, you need to get subs that wire up to 2ohm Quote Team Deadly Hertz 1997 GMC 1500 Update.... Tub Asko Posted May 9, 2008 Author Report Posted May 9, 2008 The question wasn't if they are stable or not. They can be ran at 1 ohm, just not recommended, I was wondering about the output I would exepect. Quote Facebook Youtube Murdered '07 Silverado
lil_italy773 Posted May 9, 2008 Report Posted May 9, 2008 the only 2500.1 that ran half ass on 1 ohm was the KX series. the ZX i was told by a team kicker member that it will shut off, or i would have done got one myself. Quote

I will test it on 2 18s when I get the first chamber of the box in the truck, if it doesn't work out, even with GOOD electrical I'll move it back to 2 ohm. There is a guy local that runs a memphis 4kw amp at .5 and .3 ohm for street beat with 1 alternator and several optimas (i think one yellow and 3 blue tops). I don't see why the zx can't do it, but again I'll most likely test it out before I but both chambers of the box in the truck and run 2 of the zx2500.1s like that.
