Maxspeed996
I'm laying out the plan for a complete system in my truck. 2012 GMC Sierra extended cab. I'm starting under the hood with a new battery and new and additional wiring for "The big 3". Mechman alternators say that the lug that attaches to the positive post of the alternator HAS TO FIT EXACTLY or it could heat up and cause heat buildup, melting , fire... Has anyone found 1/0 lugs that have holes on them smaller than 3/8 (which seems to be the standard size everywhere I've looked)? Or is this something I should worry about? Even the factory high output alternator only had a 10mm stud for the positive so I wonder what others have done. Thanks for the space.
Masterbasser
del city has alot of different siuzes, so does amazon. not hard to find. make sure the lug hole matches the stud size which is 5/16 or u can melt stud off like i did once long ago. do no use 3/8 and call it good.
