AustinJenson34
I was planning on doing 2 Skar DDX 15’s and a Skar rp3500 but changed my mind and decided to do 2 Skar VXF 15’s instead. I already bought and sold the DDX’s and I’m currently trying to sell the rp3500. Should I go ahead and sell it and get a rp4500 or should the rp3500 be plenty of power for the 2 VXF’s? Arthur79
Taking a look at the VXF subs, it looks like they are rated at 1500 watts RMS per sub. That puts you at 3000 watts RMS for the pair of subs. It's ok to over drive the subs a little, and there is nothing wrong with having some overhead on the amplifier side, but an additional 1500 watts over the subs rated power means you run a high risk of damaging/blowing them. If you decided you wanted 2 more VXF 15s later down the road, or get beefier subs, you could always strap a pair of the RP-3500.1D amps for double the fun. What are you doing on the power side? Upgraded/multiple alternators? Additional batteries?
