how do i get paint off without damaging my vehicle

Awhile ago i painted my rims and gas cap black with a can of spray paint.( i know it was a very stupid idea) but now i have someone who wants to buy my car from me. How do i get the paint off the rims and gas cap without damaging the paint or rim....or damaging it minimally.

There are only a few ways to really remove paint such as sanding it off, use a chemical paint stripper, sand or bead blast.

No matter what method is used you are not only going to remove the black paint you want off but you will also remove what paint is underneath the black paint and or completely damage it.

I’d try some of the “orange strip” stuff. It useless less harsh natural ingredients. I don’t know what it would do to the clear coat under the spray paint though. The rims would probably be ok if they are just metal underneath the black. Then use a rag and try to buff it all off and rinse.
