You ever get this figured out? Pretty much in the same boat.  Can’t get the clipping light to come on even though my head unit volume is maxed and so is the AudioControl DSP input gain.

I have two of these, one was originally installed in my wife's car.   Not too happy with it either, one was replaced through the warranty, it POPs when the car is first turned on.  There is a TON of white noise.  I recently had one installed in my other car, only because what I was running before was damaged & is no longer being made.  The DM810 was professionally installed by an Authorized Factory installer & tunned, but I'm still not impressed.  These are made in China now & I definitely think the sound quality is terrible.  I have been at the car stereo store more than a dozen times for issues.  Move on to something better, I'm in the process of yanking this component out and going back to OLD SCHOOL tuning.  These NEW Electronic tune from your Laptop is a good idea, but in reality sounds better than it really is.
